This collaborative event facilitated communal dialogue surrounding female related issues and explored ways to empowerment and understanding, both collectively and individually. The show highlighted and discussed the topics of self-esteem, judgment, sexism, cancer, beauty, domestic violence, gender roles, and many other issues affecting women today.
Art of the Soul used its platform to promote peace, empowerment, and justice for women within the Washington, DC community. Artists included: Alexa Meade, Amy Botello, Brett Manning, Camila River-Morales, Chanel Compton, Dafna Stenberg, Dana Maier, Elissa Savos, DC51, J. Coleman, Joyce Polance, Lilianne Milgrom, Carol Dupre, Najman Nurridin, Pam Barton Sarah Tricha, and Tanekaya Word.

Crochet For Care
Participants contributed to AOS artist Mallory Dover works against domestic violence. This workshop heightened awareness of the emotional and physical dynamics of domestic violence through expert lecture and the kinesthetic learning of crochet. This transformative process showed how something so simple can hold a tremendous amount of meaning and healing power. The artist taught the simple crochet stitches and hat patterns used in her installations.
Broken Silence
Promotion of positive self-image of women and young teens through the lens of hip-hop. Hosted by Goldie Deane Patrick of Words, Beats, and Life Inc. This workshop focused on the image of women in media, how these images affect the youth, positive reconstruction of self-image, and affirmation of self-love.

Confidence 101: The How to's of Self-Esteem
An in-depth look at techniques to confidence. This workshop explored the how-to’s of developing solid positive self-esteem. The barriers of fear and judgment were broken down and ways to practice and gain more confidence were explored through a series of exercise activities. This workshop used self-analysis, book readings, research, mirrors, movement and more to break through to the “inner psyche” of confidence. Additional topics explored: Confidence vs. False Pride, A.C.E. (Acknowledge, Conquer and Embrace) Your Fears, Jump Out There!—Try Something New and Different, The Power of the Voice vs. The Power of Knowledge, The Power of Walking, Moving and Speaking.
